    Hi,

The plugin works great on our main site which shows last 2 years of posts. We also have a separate archive site with our older posts in it, older than 2 years. Both sites use the same Google Analytics account.

When I install Toplytics on our older site, it looks like it compares posts in the older site with Google Analytics, and then only posts the top 5 posts from the older site. So most popular on the old site are all old posts. But on the older site I want the most popular to show the newest posts which live on our new site.

How do I configure Toplytics to only pull back the top 5 posts from Google Analytics and not look at what posts exist in the older system?

    Thanks for your help,
    Dean

    Hello @boulderpoet,

We have not had a use case like this before.

So from what I understand you want to force displaying the top posts from analytics and use that URL instead of the posts you have in your actual database?

A feature like this would take quite a lot of alteration to the current code structure.

I’ll open a feature request for you so we consider this in the next Sprint.

    Hi,

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes, to just show the top 5 posts from Google Analytics (GA) for the time period and use the URL from GA instead of the database.

Question: Is there a way to take the toplytics JSON feed from my main site and use it to feed a sidebar on my second (older posts) site? If that is what the toplytics javascript code is for, can you share a code example of how to set that up?

    Thank you,
    Dean

    Hello @boulderpoet,

    Thank you!

We’ve added a feature request in our GitHub page and we’ll try to include this feature to add a custom endpoint for your widget in the next major release which is planned for next week (the public beta).

    Hello,

Checking in if this functionality was added to the plugin? This:

“to just show the top 5 posts from Google Analytics (GA) for the time period and use the URL from GA instead of the database.”

    Thank you,
    Dean

    Hello @boulderpoet

We are testing this functionality right now for our new version 4 of the plugin.

If you want to help test the BETA we can send it over via email if you hit us up on support[at]presslabs.com.

    Best regards,
