    Greetings:
Very nice plugin, this Easy Modal. Many thanks.
One smallish problem: I only get half an ‘x’ where the close box is supposed to be. I’ve tried increasing the point size; moving it inside or outside the modal box. Same issue in Chrome, Safari, Firefox on the Mac and Chrome and IE on PC. (Only difference is I get a different “slant” of the half-x in IE. Figures ??

If this is a font question, please advise how to change the font.

    Site is underdevelopment at:
    https://www.test.senderohomes.com/our-team/
(click any of the first half dozen or so names to pop the modal).
    TIA for your help.

  • Hey cestchic,

Glad you are satisfied with the plug-in, and thanks for your report on this issue, we are looking into it now.

Now sure what you have the font set to currently, but that shouldn’t be a cause for this problem.

However, you can change the font in your WP Admin: Easy Modal -> Themes -> Your Current Theme -> Close Tab. It’s the first setting.

You can place any text or HTML Entities in this text box, I personally use this for a robust list of HTML Entities: https://dev.w3.org/html5/html-author/charref.

Also, if you want to import your own fonts entirely into Easy Modal, read the Use Any Custom Font in Your Popups and Modals Guide.

Like I said, this shouldn’t cause your problem, but is very useful information nonetheless.

Again, thanks for the report, and we’re looking into this problem!

    Hey cestchic,

The problem is actually the font, as seen here:

    https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Exo+2

    Ctrl + F:

    ×

You’ll notice the Font Author has a sort of slash for this character entity, instead of the “times” character. Not sure why the author did this, but it is what it is.

To fix it, just change the font of the text of the close button to something different, as the Exo 2 times character is more of a slash.

    In your WP Admin:

Easy Modal -> Themes -> Your Current Theme -> Close Tab

Look for “Font” setting 2 sections down. This should solve your problem, let me know if this helps!

    Thanks!
