Only local pickup – deactivate shipping

    Hey!

    I’m picking up this issue as I guess I have the same idea:

    For a client project that is using the new cart and checkout blocks. I would like to disable shipping but allow all products to be picked up. Currently it’s possible to configure just shipping but not just pick up.

    As a first step I think the general behavior should be that if a shop has configured the new local pick up, but no shipping methods, the checkout should just show an information about the pickup and the location selection.
    If a shop has configured booth the checkout allows the customer to pick from the two ways.

    I can understand that it maybe crosses the line to plugin territory to make the selection (shipping not/and/nor pick up) product or taxonomy based.

    Hi @drivingralle

    To achieve this, you can delete all shipping zones except the “Local pickup” one. If “Local pickup” is the only method available, it will be automatically selected at checkout and customers will see information about the pickup location.

    However, if you have both local pickup and other shipping methods configured, customers will have the option to choose between the two at checkout. More info: https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-shipping-zones/
