Our IT group has tried deactivating the plugin and reactivating. Have let the wizard run and we are still not getting any “related posts” on our blog posts. The only way we can get it to show any related posts is to fill out the manual area on the post itself. We saw on the Settings page, there is a link to the Tools page, and this has options to clear the cache and recreate the indices but no change took place. Do you have any other options for us to try to have the tool pull the related posts?

    Thank you,
    Diana

Have you tried resetting the plugin settings?

    Few options to try:
    1. Change to the default theme – one of the “Twenty ZZZ” themes and see if the posts work
    2. Turn the cache off
    3. Install Query Monitor plugin, browse to a post and see what are the Queries generated – drop down at the Top, Queries > Queries by Component > Contextual Related Posts – are there any errors – there should be a query with MATCH in there which should give results

One issue could be that your host doesn’t allow FULLTEXT indices which delete them automatically.

Our ITaP team stated that we just did an upgrade to version 5.1.1 which stops me from trying to use Query Monitor plugin. It doesn’t sound like I will be able to use this plugin Related Posts as we are not in the most updated WordPress version.

Wanted to thank you for your quick response and the options you laid out. Thank you.

No problem at all. I suspect you’re running in a very restricted environment which also prevents Query Monitor.

There are a few related plugins that I suspect could work for you.
