    I created the theme using Artisteer. I switched to Twenty Twelve and the plugin works.

    Is there something missing in my theme that you’re plugin is calling for?

    Does your theme include its own version of FontAwesome? If so, you may need to disable the styles it’s trying to apply to icons. This can also happen if the theme uses very similar CSS selectors in it’s stylesheets. For example, CSS selectors that apply to .icon or .fa.

    Firebug provides tools for inspecting the icons and finding conflicts. Beyond that, you may want to enlist the help of a CSS expert on https://jobs.wordpress.net or https://www.elto.com/wordpress.
