Only showing div if custom fields exist?

    Hi there,
    I would like to show a div on my index.php template with some text and custom fields, but only if custom fields exist for that post. If there are no custom fields, then I don’t want the div to show up at all.

    I know this has something to do with detecting whether or not ‘the_meta’ has a value, but I’m not very good with PHP. Can someone help me out?
