I’m having issues with some pages of my website not being able to edit the Yoast SEO fields. Only the tab titles will show. This only happens on some of the pages.

I’ve deactivated all Plugins, switched between my active theme (Enfold) and the default Twenty Twenty-One theme and I’m still getting the same problems:

    – If Yoast is activated with Classic Editor (no matter what Theme) it only shows the tabs
    – If Yoast is activated with Block Editor (no matter what Theme) it displays an error “This block has encountered an error” and I’m unable to edit the page.

I’ve updated the PHP version, WP is up to date, the Theme is up to date and I’ve deleted and re-installed Yoast and it’s still happening.

Please any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your confirmation, @portfoliocsg. Can you please confirm whether the issue persists on a page where you have certain custom fields where the custom fields name contain parenthesis followed by a symbol i.e. +?

We look forward to hearing from you.

I have noticed that one of the custom fields name’s on the page/s contains a closing bracket ie. ) but this custom field is used on various other pages that do not have this problem.

    Hi @portfoliocsg

A blank or partially loaded meta box is usually due to a conflicting plugin or theme – https://yoast.com/help/yoastseo-meta-box-is-blank/

You mentioned that you’ve performed a conflict check. Were you able to reproduce the issue of the blank meta box (by enabling troubleshooting mode of the Health Check plugin) and using a default WP theme such as TwentyTwenty, and only Yoast SEO v16.7 as the plugin enabled (meaning that the classic editor plugin, Gutenberg plugin, and any plugins to generate custom fields are disabled)?

We’d need for you to start from here, and then enable your plugins and themes, one by one, until we are able to reproduce the issue.
