    Hello,

I noticed you have installed another plugin of likebox and other social media. I think there may be a conflict with this plugin.

Please uninstall that plugin and let me know if this works or not.

    Thanks

    Hi sjaved,

    Thanks for responding.

Are you referring to the Digg Digg plugin that shows on the left of the main panel?

I hope not. I’m not willing to give that up to have this one.

    Hi,

I just wanted to troubleshoot the issue. Only disable it temporarily and if my plugin works or not then you can enable it later.

    Thanks

    Hi sjaved,

    Okay, cool!

I just deactivated the digg digg social plugin.

    No difference yet.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

In some cases the like box needs facebook application ID. You have to register your app with facebook with your domain.

Here is how you can create your own facebook app

Hope this will solve your problem.

    Thanks

    Hi sjaved,

I clicked on the link you supplied and attempted to follow the steps on the page… but things did not present themselves the way the tutorial showed them to.

At first I thought the tutorial was outdated since we all know that facebook is continually making changes.

No where or at anytime was I asked for the URL for my domain and at no point did I see a box titled “Basic Information”.

However, I did somehow manage to get an App ID and an App Secret… but I have no idea what to do with them.

    Hi,

Yes I can be out dated because facebook continuously make changes in their system.

Any how I will create a new app today for you and record the screencast.

Now the the app id you need to add this id in “Application ID” feild of widget. Let me know if this solves your issue or not.

    Thanks

    Hi sjaved,

I’m confused by your last reply…

you say that you will create a new app today for me
(that would be great, thank you)…
but then you say to let you know if adding the app id to the widget solves my issue or not.

After reading your message and not knowing whether I was suppose to wait for the “new app” that you said you would create for me today, I figured there would be no harm in pasting the App ID I already created into the widget to see if anything would happen.

    However, nothing happened, nothing changed.

    Hi,

I created an fb app with your domain and here is the ID 517129121754984. Use this one and let me know if that works or not?

    Thanks

    Hi sjaved,

I really appreciate you going above and beyond to help me.

The bad news is… your App ID didn’t work in the widget either.

    You are welcome ??

Okay can you switch it to default theme and check whether its working on not?

    Still not working.

I’ve tried 3 or 4 different themes, but none of them show the easy facebook like box.

Amazing man. I just downloaded and tested the latest version from wp repository on another site and it works.

Also do you have any other domain where you can test your self?

Make sure you download it from here and install it by uploading the plugin may be you were using wrong plugin.

    Hi sjaved,

I think I may be on to something.

I added the plugin to another domain and I did not add my own facebook URL, I just left the default jwebsol one inside the widget and sure enough it came up perfectly fine… but
when I changed the facebook URL inside the widget to https://www.facebook.com/don.pasco.94 everything but the title disappeared again.

So I got to thinking maybe it’s not working because I’m using my personal facebook account and not a fan page. So then I tried one of my fan pages using https://www.facebook.com/DonPascoBooks in that field and it too came up perfectly fine.

Thank you for all of your help.
    Hopefully we both learned something.
Apparently, the plugin does not work with a facebook URL from a personal facebook account.
