• After upgrade WP to 5.2 version, having problem with Theme and Plugins, decide to restore, after backing up all site and db.

    Then restored an older version and …. surprise the site was down and unable to get any access as Admin to my backend.

    I do not usally write any review about people or company but in this case I must advise all user of WP do not trust this plugin ider the people that make it.

    After all they ask for money to recover not on my case but I so it on their support.

    Anyway I had (thank’s good) a backup from my provider and after a couple of hour I was able to recover a 3 weeks older version.

    Please can you clarify what this refers to? You and everyone are very welcome to receive free support if you have any trouble, please do post – https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/updraftplus/ – we actually pay people to provide free support, and have done for several years.

    Are you referring to the packages for guaranteed timed support (options for guaranteed support in down to 3 hours)? Nobody has to buy that, but some businesses want to know that such options exist if they need them.

    P.S. One option if an automated restore fails for some reason (as I say, please do post so that it can be diagnosed, whether a plugin problem, user error, hosting problem, etc., whatever) is a manual restore, since the backups are in standard zip format: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/i-want-to-restore-but-have-either-cannot-or-have-failed-to-do-so-from-the-wp-admin-console/

    Hi,

    I do not refer to any “guaranteed support”, I been looking around for a solution and a message from your support to another customer that was responding by asking for only a payable support.

    Anyway as far as your second suggestion, yes automated restore fail then I have tried from a downloaded zip maded by UpDraft. Unzipped and FTP uploaded after having changed name all corresponding directory (ecluded the wp-content one).

    All this, as stated before was not use at all, gratfully nI have subscribed a full backup service of the site and of the db ending up with the lost of a week work.

    This is all the story, again I personally do not have time to lose with plugin that do not work and sorry in your case this is my opinion, backup have to work straight it is not a complicated task.

    Are you referring to when a paying customer shows up in the www.ads-software.com forum? It’s a rule of www.ads-software.com that we must tell paying customers to ask for support on the vendor website, not here, and that applies to all plugins; see: https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products
