Only works for category archive page

This plugin is great! One thing I was wondering is how to get the sort options to display on pages other than the category archive that is being sorted?

For example: In the settings I have set to sort on the category: ‘car’. I have a recent posts widget that displays on every page, but the custom sort options only apply to the archive page for: ‘car’. Is there a way to get this to apply elsewhere as well?
