open conversation style blog desired

  • Hi, I am just starting out so please forgive any ignorance.

    I would like to set up a forum that would be like a running conversation between users. I would like to be able to drag and drop or otherwise insert photos into this running commentary as well.

    I don’t want to have to approve posts by others, they should just be incorporated into the body immediately.

    Is wordpress the appropriate code/setup to use, do you know of anything better, or have any general tips.
