Open download in new window

    Hello,

    i am using download-monitor to offer pdf-documents for download.
    I would like the visitor to open the PDF file in a new window or tab, but the file gets directly downloaded (or if i use option “redirect”) opened in the current window.

    How can i achieve opening the file in a new window?

    +1 on that issue.

    Great plugin though!

    So, I’m also looking for a solution to this issue. I am actually using another plugin “Page Links to” to control the URL a Post title links to. That plugin has the option to “Open links in a new tab”, which works, but after the tab has opened, the PDF is not being loaded into the tab/window, but a download begins and the tab closes automatically.

    I guess it has to do with the settings in the .htaccess file protecting the downloads folder.

    Is there a way to allow this function?

    To open a link in a new tab, you can override the template file “content-download.php” located inside the “download-monitor/templates” plugin folder.
