Open Embed Block links in new tab

    Does External Links work on Embed Block URL’s? Have tried various things, but it always opens in the tab from which the link was clicked. Want it to open in a new tab, rather than overwrite the currently displayed page – both internal and external links. I could use just the link, but sometimes I want the snippet that appears with embed instead of just the link.

    Hi,

    I’m not sure what you mean by ‘Embed BLock URL’s’. If you mean an iframe, then no, WPEL will not be able to change links in an embedded iframe.
    If it’s something else, send me a link so I can have a look ??

    The external links plugin isn’t enabled right now, since it wasn’t working and I haven’t done any testing on potential side effects. But it will show what I’m hoping to do.

    Also, it didn’t get far enough to do a staging site, so it’s got a password so no one stumbles on it other than via this thread: extlinks

    Hi,

    Sorry, now I see what you mean, but no, in most cases that content loads external elements via JavaScript or inside an iframe after the page is loaded so WP External Links can’t see them and update them ??
