    Hello,

I am hoping someone can help. I’ve looked for an answer, but haven’t found anything. I have a WPForm set up in a popup when someone clicks a particular menu link. How do I get the link to open in a new tab after submission close? Currently, the popup opens, but after submission, the popup closes and it just stays on the same page.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi @judah75

    Thank you for reaching out.

We believe it is in the settings of WP Forms. Could you please update the confirmation type of your WPForm to Go to URL(Redirect)?

This will give you the option to redirect to another page after form submission. Here’s what the confirmation settings would look like:

You could also try switching how the redirection and popup displays in your site. Could you try these steps:
    – Update the menu link to the redirection page URL.
    – Update the popup settings to the following:
    — Trigger: Time Delay/ Auto Open without cookie
    — Targeting: Select the redirect page URL.

We hope that helps. Could you give a try, and let us know how that goes?

    Thanks!

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, there are a couple of problems.

The first is that there is one form for five or six links going off-site. To get the WPForm redirect to work, I would have to make a bunch of copies of the form, each with their own redirect. The form creates an entry in Google Contacts (via Zapier), so I would also need to make a new Zap for each form. I was hoping for a simpler solution.

The second problem is, again, that the links are all going to point off-site. This means that targeting the redirect page URL through Popup Maker won’t work.

It was my hope that there was a way to just continue with the link, e.g.
    1. Click link (menu item)
    1a. Popup
    1b. Submission successful
    2. Continue to link URL

Anyway, thank you for your suggestions.

    Hi @judah75

We are sorry that did not work. WPForms controls the redirection after the form submission. The popup is a container for HTML content, like the WP Forms HTML. The popup does not have control over the WPForms submission.

Could you give it a try using Popup Maker’s Shortcode: Subscription Form?

It has an option to continue/redirect to link URL after form submission as well.

To learn more, please refer to:
Shortcode: Subscription Form – ‘Actions’ Option Settings Tab: ‘Redirect’ option submenu

Let us know if that will work, or if you have questions.

Thank you for the suggestion, Bel; however, it seems that the Subscription Form Shortcode automatically adds it’s own form to the popup. It would be nice if that were a feature under the Close > Form Submission section of the popup creator. Either a selection to continue to link (if a link was clicked to open the popup) or a field to add the redirect URL.

That would still require multiple popups, but at least the same WPForm could be used and only one Zap needed.

Anyway, thank you for your time.
