Open pingback in new window

I would like the pingbacks on my posts to open in a new window/tab. I think pingbacks are great, but what I don’t like is that if visitors that come to my blog click on one of the pingbacks at the bottom of my posts, the are completely directed away from my site. Instead I would like the pingback to open in a new window/tab.

Is that possible and if yes, how?
