    Hi.

I want the background picture (with the welcome message) to only come up on visiting the home page upon entry to the site.
All other navigation to all other pages / blog posts needs to come up with the background picture hidden so that the article is shown from the top of the screen.

I found out that in my links (custom menu links) I can add #main to each URL (e.g. /mypage#main) and it does the trick (well, almost, the title is hidden behind the menu bar).

My problem is that when clicking a blog post title to read the full post, I have no control on the URL to add the #main anchor, so the user needs to manually scroll down to fins the post.

How can I achieve this: show all articles from the top, except when entering the web-site with my domain name?

    Here’s the web site: https://www.excellench.com

    Thanks!
    Mor

  • Hello Mor,

Please go to your DashboardAppearanceCustomizeWelcome Area → check Check this box if you want to disable the header image and text on all pages except the front page. checkbox → click Save & Publish.

    Hi Roman,

    Thank you for the advice.

Problem is, the background image now shows in all (non-home) pages. I want all non-home pages to have a “scroll down” effect – so the background image is always on top of the menu bar.

    Thanks!

    Hello Mor,

I’m not sure what is your exact issue. Can you please provide some explanatory screenshots?

You can upload screenshots to your WordPress Media Library and share a link, or you can use one of the online screenshot services.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    Hi Roman.

No need for screenshots – the site is live ??
See this home page, how the large background image (with charts and colorful text on the right “Beautiful Intuitive Solutions”) shows in the background – this is how it should be in the home page only.

Now, click on any other page from the main menu bar, Blog, for example. You can see the background image behind the content are – this is not how I want it. I want the background to be clear blue for all content pages and blog posts.

    Thanks!

    Hello Mor,

It looks like that image is added in the wrong place.

Please go to your DashboardAppearanceCustomizeBackground Image → make sure that there is No image selected → click Save & Publish button.

Then go to your DashboardAppearanceCustomizeHeader Image → select image for Current header → click Save & Publish button.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    Thank Roman.

I had it in both places.
I removed it from the Background Image.
Now it doesn’t show on any screen…

    Okay Mor,

    You have wrong link there:
    https://weexcelinit.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/banner_1920x800.png
    …instead of:
    https://excellench.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/banner_1920x800.png

Please try to reupload header image and see if it helps.

    Kind Regards, Roman.
