Open sidebar

I am using jetpack…
to allow users to subscribe to updates.

The Jetpack widget lives in your “Header/Nav Sidebar”.

Do you know how to open the sidebar via jQuery, so that visitors could see the confirmation text which appears above the widget?

It is maybe totally simple, I just need the function call to open the sidebar; then I would use $(location).attr(‘hash’) to decide when to call it.
