Open to home page

Hello,

So I’m still working on my wordpress website, and I’v run into a problem. I’ve been adding pages (and deleting them too), and I’ve finally settled on what I want. However, I’m tyring to set it up so when you type in my URL it links right to the page I have designated as ‘home.’

As of right now it takes me a, “Not Found. Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.” I think I know the mistake I made.
When typing in the URL I kept getting taken to posts in a category. I was tinkering around with stuff and deleted some category code in the index.php.

Anyways, does anyone have any idea on how I can have the url link to a specific page? In this case, the page I have set as ‘home.’
