Hi, I’m trying to set up OAuth Single Sign On – SSO (OAuth Client) with the custom openid.

I have everything in place, authorize/token urls, client id, cleint secret, scopes, everything that the wizard asked for.

I even can see the button at the wp login page that says “Login with [APP_NAME]”. My issue is that when I click this button, instead of going to my IDP login page, I end up in my main WP page with the query strings “option” and “app_name”

Any idea on what I might be missing?

    Thank you,

    Stefano

  • Hello Stefano,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As I can understand you have successfully connected to the IDP but when you try to log in you are not getting redirected to the IDP login page but can only see the query parameters related to the SSO. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

So, can you please answer the below questions so that I can have a better understanding of the issue that you are facing?

1] Can you please tell me if you are able to successfully connect to the IDP using the Test Configuration window provided in the plugin?
2] Could you please confirm if you are getting any JS console errors when you are trying to click on the login button?
3] Is there any caching enabled on your WordPress site/hosting provider?

Please send us a query from the support form inside the plugin so that we can reach out to you over email for better assistance and fast response.

    Thanks,
    Team miniOrange

Hi, thank you for the quick response!

1] No, I’m not able to successfully Test Configuration. When I click to test it, it opens the main page of the WP site.
Also, when the new windows is open in this step, I’m already login. Is that expected?
Is from my understanding that it should send me to my IDP provider, right?

2] When I click the “Login with [APP_NAME]” button there is no error nor warning in the console.

3] Is a really brand new WP site, I don’t think there is caching so far.

Don’t know if other plugings may interfer with miniOrange one. We have so far bbPress, something for localization and Wordfence Security

    Thanks,
    Stefano

As an update a coworker can Test the configuration, and int he mapping table gives us the values. Although I’m still not able to do it.

Maybe is worth mention that we are with the free version ATM.

Hi, hope everybody is doing good.

I’m writing as a follow up. I’d requested a trial of the plugin and set up there our client for the IDP. In the demo site is working without issues.

Do you know if it could be any incompatibility with other plugins, or common mistakes when setting up?

    Thank you,
    Stefano.

    Hello!

It seems you are already in contact with one of our developers via our support email. Our support engineer has also been trying to reach out to you via email to help you resolve the issue that you are facing. Can you please check if the emails have landed in spam?

It seems that you just need to whitelist the SSO Application endpoints in your Proxy server, and it will resolve your issue.

Let me know if you have any questions, I’d be happy to help!

    Thanks,
    Team miniOrange
