OpenID timing out (no GMP)

  • Nearly 100% of the time I try to use WP-OpenID to log into my blog, I get directed to my OpenID provider (if not already logged in), then back to my blog, but the page times out without logging in. I have had this same problem with several versions of both WP-OpenID and WordPress.

    Every now and then, it decides to work. When that happened the last time, I quickly added all my OpenID URLs to my profile. However, now I can’t add any more URLs or login with OpenID.

    The only FAIL I have on the Status information page for WP-OpenID is this:

    GMP does not appear to be built into PHP. This is highly recommended for performance reasons.

    Is that a big enough performance hit to make pages timeout a vast majority of the time?

    Still having this problem after upgrading to the latest WP (2.5) and WP-OpenID (2.1.8). Anyone??? Will??? It’s not like you’re getting married, moving, and starting a new job or anything! Where’s all this support I’ve paid so much for??? (tongue firmly in cheek, of course)
