I’m using the free version of Ultimate Auction. When I enter a new item it requires that I set an ‘opening price’, ‘lowest price to accept’ and ‘incremental value’, which is fine, even though I don’t need the reserve price. Then, when someone goes to bid on the item for the first time it won’t allow the bidder to bid at the ‘opening price’ – it makes them bid at the ‘opening price’ + ‘incremental value’. For example, if I set the opening price and lowest price to accept at $30 and the incremental value at $10 it forces the first bid to be $40, when it should be $30 since that’s the opening bid price. How do I change this?

    Hi,

We have made this such that opening price would mean from which price onward bidding would start. No doubt, people can argue but that is how it has been coded.

Also, if you are trying to recode, how exactly you want to implement and do let me know any specific doubts.

    1. Is there a way to set up the auction items so that the starting time is in the future? For example, I am setting up an online art auction, I would like the auction (and all the items in it) to start on Monday November 2nd at 10:00am PST. I would like to set all the items up on the page before hand so I don’t have to go in and re-set them up that morning.

    2. Is there a way to code it so that the opening price = the first bid price? (so it’s not opening price + incremental value)?

    1. This feature is available in PRO.

    2. Obviously there would be a way. Are you a developer? or you want suggestion from our side on it?

Ok thanks. No I’m not a developer, can you give me a suggestion from your side? I only have a very basic knowledge of how to manage our website (someone donated the development of our website to our organization, he trained me on a few things but I’m mostly learning as I go). If you give me step by step instructions I can usually figure things out.
Our auction goes live on Monday morning so I’d need any fixes to make the opening price = the first bid price asap. Thanks!

    Thanks Nitesh!

oh, forgot to mention, that the opening prices for each item are currently set $5 under our desired opening bid amount. We were just gonna go in and place the first bid on each one, but if we can get it to set the opening price = the first bid price that would be preferable.

    Hi Karen,

Could you please write at nitesh[at]auctionplugin[dot]net to co-ordinate further on these changes.

    Regards,

Actually, I posted the same thing few days ago. Could I have any update on this issue, please?

    Thanks.
