Opening gallery in Lightbox

I want to achieve something simple and although I’ve been browsing Google for days, it seems solutions if there were any, were too complex and only suitable for versions prior to 2.0.

I want clicking on a link to open specific NGG gallery in a Lightbox (got Slimbox installed, but will switch to just about anything that works) and I can’t figure out what the href should be. Is it really so hard to achieve?
