    Hi Ron,

It does this with shortcodes if you set links_in_new_window='1' e.g.

    [rotatingtweets screen_name='name' links_in_new_window='1']

In the widget, just tick the box next to:

Open all links in new window or tab?

    Hope this helps,

    Martin

Thanks Martin … I was being either blind or stupid (and probably both). Completely missed that option. Just tried it and it works perfectly. Really sorry to trouble you.

    Regards
    Ron

Can anyone answer this (or any other question in this whole entire website) in laymans terms????? Why are all the answers in GEEK?????

The whole reason normal people use WP is so we don’t have to speak it.

I have the Twitter WP widget and I need it to open in a new tab. It shouldn’t take rocket scientists and code monkeys to make it happen.

    Any ideas?

If you have the Rotating Tweets widget, you have two options:

If you are using the widget, tick the box in the widget that says “Open all links in new window or tab?”.

If you are using the shortcode (i.e. if you are typing the text into a regular page or post), write:

    [rotatingtweets screen_name='the_user_name_you_want_to_show' links_in_new_window='1']

in your page or post and publish as normal.
