opens another window to play but does not show player

Hi, I am very happy with this plugin that in many ways is superior to others that I have tried. Thats why I donated for it and I definitely want to keep using it.
But lately I had many instances where suddenly the player does not show anymore. The url to amazonS3 is obviously correct, because after clicking a link that shows on the page (instead of the player) it opens another window where the sound file plays just fine. I also can open the editing window within admin after clicking on the mb.miniaudioplayer icon, so obviously the mb.miniaudioplayer DOES recognize the url as valid.
But unfortunately the player does not show.Please help:
