Opinion for UX of New Directory plugin detail page & bug

  • Hello,

    In new plugin directory my opinion.

    1) To read plugin detail description need to Press “Read More” button most of plugin has video tutorial so video gone cut.

    I think user need to read full description without any new action.

    2) Bug: I see in Mac Safari Screenshot Slider not working.

    Also can add any effect like fade In <=> fade Out then hope it will be much better to view.

    3) Last update time don’t change is it effect after version update?

    4) In Tags see showing 5 it has some extra space so it can be more.

    Hope WordPress Team will consider this.

    1. It may be lengthened or it may not be. Depends on what plugin authors do. I would expect many of them to start writing better readme files instead of throwing the kitchen sink in there.

    2. Safari is weird, but I’ll have some people test it.

    3. Last Update time changes when the version number of the plugin changes, as originally intended.

    4. Tags are intentionally limited to 5 because plugin authors were putting in 100 or more in attempts to game the search engine. Tags become useless when they’re just a wall of text, so we limited them.
