Hi, the site in question is hidden behind a coming soon page atm.

Basically I need to use your optin form, as opposed to your Contact Form 7 integration, as I need to add tags to certain Mailchimp tags to various optin forms to segment my users.

I don’t like the look of your optin form though, my theme can alter the Contact Form 7 one to match my site and it looks great. I don’t know what CSS or similar to add to get your forms to do that. It appears my site applied a <div class=”form-flat”> to the Contact Form 7.

I can show you screenshots if required.

    Thanks

    Hey @charliemariephoto,

Our forms actually integrate with Contact Form 7. If you check your Easy Forms settings by navigating to:

Easy Forms > Settings > Contact Form 7

    – Choose which list you’d like to add contacts to.
    – Save Changes.

Now go to Contact > Contact Forms

    – Select your form.
    – add the following shortcode [yikes_mailchimp_checkbox]
(This should be before the submit button)

Now you’ll have a contact form 7 form that will submit to Mailchimp.

Let me know if this works out for you!

    Cheers,

    Freddie

    Hi,

Yeah I know that, but I can’t add Mailchimp tags to Contact Form 7 with your plugin, can I?

When people subscribe using a form, I want them to have a tag added in Mailchimp so I can segment my welcome sequence based on the opt-in form they filled out.

    Hi @charliemariephoto.

If you check out this Knowledge Base article: https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/form-settings/

Look for the section “Overall Form Classes” There it shows you how to add a class to a form. Try entering form-flat there are see if it works.

Hopefully that will mostly work, you may have to do some tweaking. If so, we can help you with that. But it may have to wait until your site is live so we can inspect the code and troubleshoot.

    Thank you!

Also, one note about tags. Mailchimp’s API does not yet allow tags for double opt-in so tags will only work for single opt in.

    @charliemariephoto,

As Tracy noted, the Mailchimp API doesn’t allow for updating tags, so this functionality is impossible. Instead, I suggest using Interest Groups to segment your audience as this feature is supported by this plugin.

Let me know if you have any questions about how to do this!

    Cheers,

    Freddie
