I would like to add the Matomo opt-out code to my site’s privacy policy. Unfortunately, this does not work and seems to break the encryption – no matter if I use the shortcode [matomo_opt_out] or the more detailed iFrame code (also when I change the code there to use a relative URL). As a result, a red warning from Windows Defender SmartScreen appears instead of the opt-out.

Before switching to the plugin, I had been running a standalone Matomo on my site. No problems with the opt-out code there.

    Any idea?

    Hi @thomascloer

any chance you could send us the URL to the privacy page to us by email? The email address would be wordpress at matomo.org. We’d then have a look and see if we can identify the issue there. The opt out should be still embedded.

    Hi @tsteur,

will do. I would not like to leave the page online for too long with the code embedded, though. Anyway, thanks for offering me this direct help. Mail will go out in a few minutes.

    Best wishes,
    Thomas

    Thanks for your help @thomascloer

We were able to reproduce it with Edge 85 (was working with version 84). We’ve been working on a workaround all day and hoping to create a new release in the next 16-48 hours.
