Suddenly, all the options in the “Local” tab are disabled, only “Pixel Perfect” for JPG is available, and all the other options for PNG, GIF, and SVG are disabled and can not be selected. That means that the plugin is only working for JPG images.

    Any idea?

I would check with your webhost. When the plugin displays that as the options, it generally means that exec() is disabled and/or you can’t access the local tools to process your images (so you have to use our servers). I recommend having a look at this document: What is exec and why do I need it?

    Thanks for your fast response!

I’m on my own VPS, I’m sure exec() function is not disabled, also I’m not seeing any warning displayed by EWWW. Any idea how to debug this issue?

If you want to share the system info from the support tab of the plugin settings, that may tell me a little more specifically what is preventing the local tools from being accessed. If you want you can send them to me directly: https://ewww.io/contact-us/ or you can post them in a pastebin and share it here.

    Thanks again!

I have sent you an email with all the system info from the support tab.

    • Disabled function in PHP.INI is empty.
    • I have created an index.php file to test the exec() function, and is working fine as expected.

    Regards.

Just for the record, this was the answer they emailed me:

It looks like this is on an ARM processor; the binaries only run on x86/x64.

So, that means we cannot use EWWW plugin on ARM servers.

Would be nice if at least a message were displayed for ARM users.
