  • Hi Helle,
After choosing “LiteSpeed” as your server configuration and clicking “Continue” then downloading a backup of your files, did you get this message after that or a different one?

The changes have not yet taken effect. If you are using LiteSpeed or IIS as your web server or CGI/FastCGI interface, you may need to wait a few minutes for the changes to take effect since the configuration files are sometimes cached. You also may need to select a different server configuration in order to complete this step, but wait for a few minutes before trying. You can try refreshing this page.

Please let me know your server PHP version, you can get it from (Wordfence > Diagnostics => PHP).

    Thanks.

    Hi wfalaa
Yes I got that message, but nothing ever happens. And in the drop down menu, where I choose Litespeed, i goes back to apache.

I changed the server from apache to Litespeed some weeks ago. When I had Apache, there were no problems with the Firewall

    My php version is 5.6.13

    Best regards

Could you please check .htaccess file at the root of your website and search for any code snippet there starting with “# Wordfence WAF”? please use this tool to paste this snippet then share the link here.

You can also click on “Optimize the Wordfence Firewall” button under (Wordfence > Firewall) then choose your server configuration as “LiteSpeed” and follow the instructions under the “Alternate method” section down there.

Let me know how it goes,
    Thanks.

Thank you for your answer, but I tried the alternative method with no succes. I couldn′t find out where to put the code.

I don′t know very much about coding, and don′t want to change anything in the root of the site. I can make too much damage.

I don′t understand why I can′t change to Litespeed and then just continue.
Wordfence hold on to the Apache, that I no longer have.

Apache is based on some tests, but couldn′t you make a new test, that will show, it is Litespeed.

    Best regards

Yeah, it should simply work fine by “Uninstalling the firewall files” then just run the “Setup Firewall” process again with the new server configuration.

I think maybe there are some traces of the firewall files when you were using Apache, that’s why I asked for the .htaccess file contents in my previous reply, any updates about that? you may also search the root directory of your website for wordfence-waf.php or .ini files, any of them are there?

Regarding the “Alternate method”, you can always ask your hosting provider about the right file you need to edit (the right php.ini file for example), and make sure to have a backup of any file before editing, that’s how you can revert back to the original file version in case something happened.

    Thanks.
