    Hi
I have tried to Optimize Wordfence Firewall, but it is not activating.

I’ve checked the paths in the files (user.ini and wordfence-waf.php), I did notice that in wordfence-waf.php the paths are set to ___DIR___ and in other installations are defined addresses. tried changing to defined address but they reset back.

I have Sent diagnostic Report by Email

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @awr10e, thanks for sending your diagnostic over!

Your database, file permissions and connections all seem good, but I can indeed see that you’re not running with an optimized firewall.

I looked up your host and see you don’t appear to be running on Siteground, but other hosts that use cPanel and may not allow .user.ini files can be affected. Do any of the steps on this page solve the situation for you?: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/optimizing-the-firewall/#alternative-hosting-provider-setups

It might also be worth clearing any cache plugins or caches present on the server to see if the path in the ini file was being ignored. Let me know how you get on!

    Thanks,

    Peter.
