optimize wordpress/google pictures
-
On me website with wordpress/woocommerce all pictures sizes are good. But when I type my website: https://www.odori.nl, the images are to much zoom in.

I understand that you would like to fix the sizing of your images on your website. This is usually set through your theme’s settings or CSS.
Could you please share which image would you like to adjust from the website?
Looking forward to your response!
oops, I wasn’t clear. When I type in my website on Google, it does not appear properly in the search results (zoomed in too far). odori.nl
Hello @erwincaspers
Thanks for the response! I couldn’t replicate or see the issue when I tried it on my end. Can you share a screenshot? You may use https://snipboard.io when sharing screenshots. Please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply.
On the other hand, you’re experiencing an issue with how your website’s images are displayed when your site appears in Google search results. This is typically due to how Google’s search algorithms crawl and index your site.
To potentially improve this, here’s what I suggest:
- Ensure that your images are of high quality and appropriately sized.
- Make sure you’ve set a featured image for each of your pages and posts. This is the image that Google typically displays in search results.
- You may use SEO plugins that help you specify which image to use as the thumbnail when your site is shared or appears in search results.
- Some themes may have specific image size settings for Google search display. If your theme has these settings, make sure they’re configured correctly.
Please try these steps and see if the issue persists. If it does, don’t hesitate to get back to us with the screenshots. Thanks!

Hi again @erwincaspers
That’s great! Please do let us know how it goes. ??
Hi there,
Image optimization is not handled by Flatsome Theme. you can use various image optimization plugins in WordPress to streamline the process and automatically optimize your images. Here are some popular image optimization plugins:- Smush: Smush is a popular and user-friendly image compression plugin. It automatically compresses images on upload and can also optimize existing images in your media library. The free version has robust features, and there’s a pro version with additional functionality.
- Imagify: Imagify is another excellent image optimization plugin that allows you to compress and resize images. It has a simple setup and integrates seamlessly with the WordPress media library. Imagify offers a free plan with limitations and premium plans for larger websites.
- ShortPixel: ShortPixel is a versatile image optimization plugin that compresses images without compromising quality. It supports various image formats and provides both lossless and lossy compression options. ShortPixel offers a limited free plan and paid plans for larger websites.
- EWWW Image Optimizer: EWWW Image Optimizer is a powerful plugin that automatically optimizes images on upload. It supports a variety of image formats and offers both lossless and lossy compression options. There’s a free version with basic features and a paid version for additional functionality.
What do you recommend to improve the Google images with this?
I recommend using any image optimization plugin you mentioned to improve Google images. These plugins will help reduce the file size of your images without losing quality, which can help improve your site’s loading speed, a factor that Google considers in its rankings.
In addition to this, consider using SEO-friendly image filenames and alt text. This helps Google understand what the image is about, which can improve its visibility in Google Images search results. Also, make sure your images are in a format that Google can crawl and index, such as .jpg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .webp, and .svg.
Also, consider implementing structured data for your products. This can include information like price, availability, and review ratings and can help your products appear in Google Images and other Google search results.
Remember, while these plugins can help optimize your images, they are just one part of a broader SEO strategy. Consistently producing high-quality content and ensuring your site is well-structured and easy to navigate are equally important.
I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.
