    Hello

It seems that my media library is not displaying images which are in my File manager.

There are .webp files which were created by litespeed, and they are not reflected in the media library.

Ive had trouble usuing litespeed image solutions before, but Im like to try to implement litespeed again. So I think the first step is getting the file manager in sync.
    ___
I downloaded the plugin “media sync” to run and see what is displayed, and it shows 11,000 images not in sync. And I think I have uploaded less than 1000 images. So I thought it is best to try to get litespeed created images in sync with the media library first.

Can you advise me as to how I would begin this process?
I had done mutliple optimizations over months trying to get the images sizes small enough. So Im not sure if there may be alot of images out duplicated in file manager.

what exactly do you mean by “sync” ? like between database and actual file ?

please try search some of these files in database , see if you can find them and what are related data in DB

Im not extremely familiar with the database. I thought the database is a reflection of the files that are in file manager.

And in File manager, there are a many xxx.webp files that were created by litespeed, yet they are not showing in my media library.

So what Im trying to do is get the webp files to be reflected in litespeed so I can delete them. And then clean up the other files which Im not using.

LSCWP creates file with double extension , is that only xxx.webp or something like xxx.jpg.webp ?

no exactly, sometimes when a plugin put some files into file , it may not “register” them into database , but you only see it in file system and not show up in database.

    yes.
    xxx.png.webp,
    xxx.jpg.webp

by any chance, are you using plugin like WPML ?

no. I am using a plugin that physically creates folders, so I dont have just a standard uploads folder. And this has not been an SEO benefit that I hoped, however it doesnt seem to have been a problem.

This issue started after I was deleting images, or the database cleaning plugin. The webp optimization stats in media interface disappeared. So, I suspect Its possible I accidentally deleted some organizing file withinin LSCWP as I did go through and clean up a bunch of files.

no , the display optm info in Media page, is not related to file system , this info is stored in database , when you say “database cleaning plugin” , what exactly has been cleaned up ?

my suspicion is such data has been cleaned up.

I run perfmatters and WP db cleaner.

I cleared tables with wp db cleaner, and that where I maybe was going fast and loose. I think Ive reinstalled litespeed since that however.

hmmm? do you have backup before you run the db clean ?

re-install plugin won’t re-create or restore the data though.

if you did not do “remove origin backup” , you can destory all optimized data and re-do the optimization , this way it should re-create such data

this was months ago. I was trying to speed up my admin

I dont know where the option is for “remove origin backup.” And I cannot find it in LSCWP. So I dont think I utilized this when I would have uninstalled prior.

it’s at bottom of image optm summary

or in the image optm setting

Ok. So Yes. Ive hit that button many times and tried to to remove these.

However, I did it again now and the server is showing 100% I/O Usage and RAM is at 60%.

And the browser window is showing activity and a blank screen still, after 300 seconds. So Im not sure if it is locked up, or if its still processing.

So suppose Ill leave it alone until the CPU usage shows a drop?

    (@qtwrk)

wait , you mean you are removing the original backup ? I was referring that , if you did NOT remove the backup , then you can try destroy the optimized images and re-optimize , didn’t mean to remove the original backup…

yes , it will take quite some times if you have large number of images.

    Thread Starter RL

    (@lutzryan)

So I did both remove original backup and remove optimized.

When I look in file manager now, there is over 250 (jpg.webp).

So I dont think it deleted them. Which is where I make the assumption that the files in file manager are not in “sync” with the media manager, or litespeed

So Im not sure if there is another step I can take now.

    (@lutzryan)

But it still says 84% Physical memory usage. So perhaps its still processing.
