• Hello

I use photoshop as image editor. Do I need to use the photoshop feature save for web and devices when I save pictures to be used in a wordpress website or does wordpress take care of all this.

  • Hi,
Just save it as .jpg file if you want to use alpha then .png …
In popup window select quality 1-10.

WP takes care of everything else.

That what apofiSS sad is true.
Basically use PNGs for UI elements, and JPGs for photos.

But I have recently read – not sure where, but it was Smashing Magazine I think – that there is a default compression parameter that goes into use when you upload JPGs to media. Suprisily WordPress is recompressing them or so.
