Compression of Thumbnails?

    Is it even possible?

    Is there any way to compress thumbnails? Images are optimized with Smush.it on upload, but their thumbnails can all be compressed by 80%. I use Hot Topix theme. I run page speed tests and get A’s on everything, but an F on image compression; all the images that FAIL are thumbnails generated by the theme.

    Greetings and thanks for your question! The plugin can smush images from the media library but I’m afraid it wouldn’t work apart from that.

    So long as the theme uses standard WP functionality for the thumbnails though, it should work. If it’s using a custom method, I’m afraid the plugin wouldn’t be able to smush the images.

    Hey there @tfolder,

    Sorry I didn’t mention this previously, but he developers are actually working on a really cool update for this plugin that will allow for quite a lot more flexibility.

    Once that’s out, I’m sure we could have a look at other possibilities, like being able to compress other images apart from the media library.
