The plugin dropdown to select user roles who can see the menus is missing in the settings. Currently using WordPress 5.5.3 & User Menus 1.2.4, the latest versions for both.

I commented in a similar post, but since it was tagged ‘Resolved’ I wanted to create another post thread. I’ve read through all the comments and suggestions and tried my best to follow what everyone else did to see if that fixed anything. I have deactivated all plugins and even temporarily used a different theme to see if the problem still persisted and it did.

I have used this plugin for another site (site #2) and have never had this issue before. So I checked on that to see if I could find any similarities or difference with site #1. The only difference between the two is site #2 is not updated to the latest WordPress version or User Menus plugin version and site #1 that is having issues is.

This leads me to believe that the issue is a conflict between this plugin and WordPress 5.5.3. How can this be resolved? Is there anything I can do further to fix this. I appreciate all the help!

@saharavis – We are not tracking any issues with the latest versions that I’m aware of.

Tested it on a mostly clean install just now (one I know has no menu editor customizations), and it is working correctly for me.

Try the Health Check plugin’s troubleshooting mode which will eliminate most conflicts.

That said if your site has Must Use plugins active they could also be affecting things as they can’t be disabled from the admin or by using a plugin like Health Check.

    Let us know.

@danieliser i’m encountering the same problem I can’t see the option to select user roles, but I do see the tab with add user links register, log-in and logut

Hi @danieliser, I have the same problem, the user role selectors are not showing up. I have version 5.3.3 and Php 7.4.13

@vibfy, @wp-yeyo – Can you both check your browser console for JS errors, and server logs for PHP errors.

That said please also use the Health Check plugin’s Troubleshooting mode to see if the problem persists when you activate Troubleshooting mode for our plugin.

If not it indicates your theme or another plugin is causing some type of conflict, you can further activate other plugins & theme while in troubleshooting mode one at a time to see which breaks it again.

Likely something that adds other menu customization options.
