• I recently downloaded a plugin that required the newest version of WordPress. After I updated to the newest version, the option to add a title to a post disappeared (in the back-end). On the front end, the titles shows and I can add a title to a post on the “all posts” page if I click “quick edit” under the post but when I click to “add new” there is no option within there.

NOTE: Previous to the WordPress update, everything worked fine – even after I downloaded the plugin.

The title field is now part of editor content. When you start a new post, there should be a “Add title” placeholder that gets replaced when you type a title.

If this placeholder is not visible for new posts, or the existing title is not visible for existing posts, your theme’s editor styling may have inadvertently hidden it. If your theme supports background color selection (usually in the customizer), as a test try changing the the background color to something very different.

Or try switching to a default twenty* theme. Titles should now be visible. If so, the issue is with your theme. I recommend asking through their dedicated support channel on how to correct the problem.
