Option to bring back server-side email

With the latest update to 1.5.0, server-side email was replaced with a mailto link to remove the possibility of spam. However, with Google captcha correctly implemented, I preferred the server side experience.

Is there a way to bring back server side email? Perhaps with an option for users to select the preferred method.
