option to choose custom template missing — twenty seventeen theme

    I must be loosing it. When creating a new page, post, anything new, the option to select a custom template it missing. The meta box dropdown does not exist.

    I am logged in as admin. Any ideas?

    Have you created a custom template yet?
    The option appears only if there are custom template files available.

    Hi and thanks for your reply. Yeah I got it working. Spaced out not having a template in the folder. Thanks for your reply
