    Hello,

I have to set up a registration form which allows the user to choose the role he wants to has. All roles show different input fields.

I tried to set up different registration forms for each role and show/hide them with a dropdown menu. The problem is that only one shortcode can be displayed.

Is it possible to show multiple shortcodes in one single form? Or how is it possible to allow the user to choose the role on its own.

    Thanks.

    Hi @samevision,

UM has predefined roles field ( both dropdown & radio ), which you can use in your registration form that allows user to choose their role on their own. However, for security reason, it’s only possible to use UM custom roles in the predefined roles field. You can create custom role from Ultimate Member->User Roles->Add New inside dashboard and give them capability at the role edit screen so that they will work exactly like wordpress default roles, such as subscriber, contributor.

    Thanks.

    Hi @mansurahamed,

    thanks for your reply.

    I see.

I created a custom role and added it to the dropdown. For some reason it’s not working to show specific text boxes if a specific user role is selected.

Do I have to put in the user role name oder id or what?

    Thanks.

    Of course.

I created the custom roles in ultimate member and set that specific text fields are shown if the selected role in drop down equals “um_**created-role-name**”.

If you create the custom role via ultimate member it’s still possible to set role based prices in other plugins.

Well shoot. This is clear as mud. Does anyone have a screencast or video on how to manage this? Documentation doesn’t help…look:

You could add “User role” (dropdown or radio) field in Ultimate Member forms.

In the security reasons there can be used only “Subscriber” user role or roles which was created in “Ultimate Member”->”User Roles” settings in Ultimate Members form. Because other user roles may have privileges for editing important parts of WordPress installation.

I don’t even know what that means!
