Option To Disable Link Boundaries

  • I absolutely hate the new link boundaries feature. It seems to cause the editor to hang/slow down on posts/pages with significant amounts of hyperlinks.

    I’ve tried disabling all plugins and I still get the same delay. Can we please add an option to disable this feature for those who don’t want it?

    Link boundary? Without posting a link to your site, what are you referring to?

    Regardless, adding an option about that really is plugin territory.

    It’s one of the major features that was added as part of wordpress 4.8 (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Version_4.8).

    From the update notes:

    Have you ever tried updating a link, or the text around a link, and found you can’t seem to edit it correctly? When you edit the text after the link, your new text also ends up linked. Or you edit the text in the link, but your text ends up outside of it. This can be frustrating! With link boundaries, a great new feature, the process is streamlined and your links will work well. You’ll be happier. We promise.

    I can promise you that I’m not happier.
