Option to 'lazy' load video ?

Hi Kosinix,

A customer of mine has made the silly decision that they want a slider with five video’s on their homepage. I know, not a good idea, but what can I do if they go ahead against my advise anyway… ?

As you will understand, that makes the loading of the homepage slow as all five videos are being retrieved from Vimeo whether the user chooses to play them or not.

Now I was wondering if there is an option somewhere which I may have overlooked which allows for ‘lazy’ loading of the videos, i.e. display an image slide from the video and only load the video if the user mouses over the image ?

Or maybe you know of someone who has published an add-on plugin which does this ?

Any and all information on existing solutions would be appreciated. If not, I’ll probably end up building it myself ;-(
