• Hello,

I’m using your Super Advent Calendar plugin and noticed that there is an option to choose how content is displayed: directly on the card, in a modal window, or by opening a link. However, when selecting the option to open a link, it either opens in a new tab or replaces the current page.

I’d like to know if there are plans to implement the option to open such links directly in a modal window, so the content remains within the current page, similar to the in-card content display. This feature would greatly improve user experience.

Thank you for your work and for a fantastic plugin!

I am interested in displaying youtube videos in a modal window. I managed to show videos from my gallery, but when I close the modal window, the sound from the video continues to play.

    Hi @rasswet,

Thank you for reaching out! I understand what you’re aiming for, but I may have a slightly different solution. I’ve just released version 1.12.0, which includes a shortcode you can use to add links to the back content of the door/modal. You can find detailed documentation on how to use this here (see example with a link):
    https://www.verdant.studio/documentation/super-advent-calendar/getting-started/using-shortcodes/

At this time, I don’t have plans to add functionality for opening links directly within the modal, as this can lead to issues. Many sites restrict embedding/iframe access, which can prevent content from displaying as expected.

Regarding videos, the issue is likely due to the modals being hidden on the page. I’ll look into adding functionality to automatically stop videos from playing when the modal is closed, if I can make it work for multiple platforms.
