• Hi,

I was wondering if its possible to let users enter their details on the registration form so that the xprofile fields get automatically populated.

Currently the entire registration process is clumsy – users need to fill out name, email and password first (for a BuddyPress/BuddyBoss website), only to then go to their profile page to submit another form from inside their user profile to finally enter their details (e.g. birthdate, country, etc.).

Is there any way to include the user xprofile fields already in the default/custom registration form so they populate the user profile fields without having to go to profile page to edit their details?

    That would be lovely!

Hi, not sure if this helps but I came across WPform and FluentForm and they both offer a so-called “user registration” addon.

Apparently this addon can fill in the xprofile fields (via meta keys and mapping). But I am not sure if it works completely for all xprofile fields…

Any chance to integrate “BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Field” Type” plugin with the form builders?

    Thanks ??

    Hi,

Thank you for using the plugin and your comments. I complete agree with your comment on the registration process. It is not very user firendly.

Please note that this plugin does not provide the core functionality of handling field data. The functionality is offered by BuddyPress/BuddyBoss. This plugin simply extends that with field types(You can think of it as adding a new form field view as well as some constraints for data validation).

    1. If you are using BuddyPress, You will see a “Signups” box on the right side of the field edit scree(dashboard). Please tick the checkbox that says ”?Use this field in the site registration form.” and the field will be available in the registration form.
    2. If you are using BuddyBoss, you can add fields to First field group and that will appear on the signup screen.
    3. I am sorry but we are using the BP/BB api(for profile field, they are same) and it is not feasible to extend it for other plugins providing registration form.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Brajesh,

thanks for the detailed reply ??

As I mentioned WPforms and FluentForms can map their form fields to whatever other fields I want. But for that I need the meta keys for the xprofile fields.

How can I find the meta keys for my fields that I created with xprofile field plugin? Are the meta keys always the same for the field options, e.g. “country”, “birthdate”, etc or are they different on each website?

All I need now is the meta key(s) for my xprofile fields. Can you please give me more information on where to find them?

    Thanks again in advance ??
