Option to remove email tooltip in editor
-
There’s a prompt that pops up when you type an @… which tries to put the users email on the page.
Seriously? How long is it since a WP dev actually built a client site? Have they completely lost touch with how it’s used in the wild?
I can’t click most of the context menu, and end up clicking all over the place to get rid of this stupid prompt. It often obscures things and won’t disappear. It cannot be dismissed or suppressed. If I back-space onto a link with an email, and then press enter to make a new line – the tooltip has stolen focus and so replaces the email and link with my login email and username. I have to edit it all over again.
It’s the most stupid thing – and means clients will be accidentally adding private emails to pages because they don’t realise they’ve clicked this.
How can I remove YET ANOTHER unwanted feature – a filter / function to add to the 20 I now need on every site to remove bloat… or a plain old hack – tell me the JS function/file at play here – I don’t care, I just want this gone.
