• This is really odd. I can’t modify options for discussion because of a 403 error. Its permissions are the same as everything else. Help?

  • Try disabling all plugins, and going to the default theme. Upgrade to 2.0.2 following the upgrade process, and post again to report any progress.

Also, provide details on whether you can access other links in the admin interface and in the blog.

Provide details on how you are hosting WordPress.

flammo, I am using the latest version – not an upgrade. I just did a fresh install and haven’t changed the theme yet. I can access all other tabs except that one in the dashboard.

    Do you have this file?

    /wp-admin/options-discussion.php

If you do, try uploading the file again, maybe it went corrupt or got deleted somehow? (Just a guess).

I do have it. I did try to upload it again, and it still gives me that error. I can edit the file using the host’s file manager and see the php, so it’s not corrupt. Permissions appear to be the same as everything else… is there a word in there I need to be concerned about?

Is your host running mod_security? Or is it something you can temporarily disable? Seems like, at a wild guess, something on that page is tripping up the mod_security rules, thus getting the 403 (FORBIDDEN) reponse thrown.
