My CPU usage has doubled over the last week so I’ve set up two test WP blogs. This is from my host:

    Top Process %CPU 44.0 /usr/bin/php /home/username/public_html/wpclean/wp-admin/options-general.php

WPclean is one of my test blogs. I’ve added my theme and plugins back in but didn’t import the database. It only has four test posts and zero pages. The plugins are update and I’m running…

    Akismet
    Post Avatar
    Raw HTML capability
    Comment Timeout
    Feedburner FeedSmith

Test blog #2 is a replica of my real blog (imported the database and changed the urls) and it’s not showing up as a resource hog so I don’t think the plugins are a problem.

But, they’re also saying my real blog’s index.php is using 40-50%. In an attempt to figure out what’s wrong, I deleted all the wordpress files and the database. The only thing left in the entire subdomain is an index.php file saying the site is down… but this index.php file is still a resource hog.

I’d like to mention that my blog has been running for five months without any problems and Google Analytics was reporting about 2,000 page views a day before I deleted WP yesterday.

Any help would be appreciated. I’ve been trying to troubleshoot this on my own for a week. T__T
