What are the correct steps to take when you accidentally mark an order as completed? This is a bank transfer order, for a virtual product, so we mark them as completed manually when we receive the payment. But now we’ve accidentally marked the wrong order as complete and can’t seem to undo it. When we change the status and save, it remains Completed.

    Hi @petermorlion

I understand that you’re having trouble with an order that has been mistakenly marked as completed. This can be quite frustrating, but I’m here to help you resolve this issue.

    Here’s the step-by-step guide:

    1. Go to WooCommerce > Orders.
    2. Locate the order that was mistakenly marked as completed and click on the order number or the ‘Edit’ button under the order.
    3. Once you’re on the order details page, look for the ‘Status” in the order details section.
    4. In the ‘Status’ drop-down, select ‘Change status to pending’, then click the ‘Update’ button. This will change the order status back to pending.
    5. Save your changes by clicking on the ‘Update’ button at the top right of the page.

Please note that this action should only be taken if you’re sure that the order has not been fulfilled yet. If the order has already been fulfilled, it’s best to contact the customer directly to explain the situation and discuss possible solutions.

Further information on order status can be found here: https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-orders/

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

That’s what I tried but it doesn’t work. I double checked with another site and there it works. So it must be a plugin blocking this, I think. At least now I know I should investigate further. Thanks.

Ok, it seems there was a conflict with a plugin. Updating that plugin fixed it. Thank you!
