Order by Parent DESC not working

    Hello!

    I am trying to use the shortcode
    orderby="parent DESC"

    or combinations thereof.

    I want to reverse the upload order to show the gallery. But the DESC is not respected. It is respected when I use other value such as date, etc. But not parent.

    What can I do?

    Thanks for your question. Ordering by Parent won’t help you – it sorts by the ID of the post/page the item is “attached” to, usually set to 0 these days. You can try:

    orderby=ID order=DESC or orderby=date order=DESC

    Either one should get you the most-recent item first, etc.
