order, deny, allow not allowed here

    After blacklisting some IP’s, I could not pull up any page.

    In the apache error_log, it says, that in .htaccess, things like “order is not allowed here” or “deny is not allowed here” or “allow is not allowed here”.

    I edited .htaccess and commented out everything that started with “order”, “deny”, “allow” and now it works.

    I’m guessing I need something in the httpd.conf file, but I don’t know what.

    OK. Fixed it. I had to have “AllowOverride All” in a <Directory> section of my httpd.conf file. I had tried that and it hadn’t worked, but that was because I had not applied the changes using “websrvmng”. Works now.
