Order details variable for email body

    Firstly, thanks for this plugin, it looks like it will be a worthy investment.

    In testing it with a few customers, I found that most of those who opened the email ignored it because they couldn’t remember the details of the purchase (order numbers are not as memorable to customers as we think).

    I know that the details of the order are on the review page, but none of the customers know that before they click on the “Review” button – which most don’t because they can’t be bothered to remember the details of their last purchase.

    Most of those that we followed up with said that if we had had the details of the purchase in the body of the email, that would have jolted them to click on the “Review” button.

    Most similar plugins have a {order_details} or similar variable that one can add to the email body to include a table with the cart or invoice details of that order. Is there any chance of having something like that for a future version of this plugin?

    Yes, I think we can add a variable like this. I will update this topic when the variable is available.

    Hi @ivole,

    Any word on when this feature might be coming?

    We are currently evaluating 2 customer review reminders/requests and customers are clicking 100% on the one that contains a visual reminder of their purchase – i.e. a copy of the order details in the email.

    I really think that an {order_details} or similar variable for the email body would go a long way towards changing that.

    Just thought that you’d like to know.

    @ivole, just to clarify…

    What I mean is that about 55% are responding to the review request, but of that 55%, all of them are clicking on the review request that contains details of the order we are asking them to review in the email body and none of the 55% are clicking on the review request that does not contain any details of their order in the email body.

    Thanks for sharing interesting insights! Do you mind showing screenshots of the two versions of the emails that you tested?

    Unfortunately, we haven’t yet implemented the variable. We are currently working on improving upload of pictures/videos to reviews and it takes a lot of time. Please bear with us.

    A new variable {list_products} is available in version 3.36 of the plugin. It shows a list of products in a customer order and can be used in review reminder emails.
